Mother: Yatsuki Patterson; Middle aged, 'single' mother that is fully Japanese
Auntie Mai: (Yatsuki's younger sister) Kira's crazy Aunt that lives in their house and has yet to find her perfect 'Match'
Father: David Patterson; Mixed between African American & Caucasian; Middle aged man working in New York City, USA. He hasn't seen is family in years but still keep in contact via e-mail, text, and Skype.

Kira lives with her mother and Aunt Mai in Japan while her Brother went to America to go after his dream of Acting and Singing. Her father has a job in New York as well, that requires him to stay there instead of with his family, but her mother has a spiritual bond with Japan and cannot leave. Her parents are not divorced, they are just trying to make a long distance relationship work. Her Aunt Mai stays with her mother for moral support and to be a secondary mother for Kira.

Kira was born and raised in Japan, just like her brother. The only time she left out the country was when she was 14 and wanted to see her brother's new Flat that was located in New York City.

A little random bit of school history. When Kira was 7 years old, instead of going to the 1st Grade, She moved up to the 2nd grade instead. Apparently she was too 'smart' for 1st grader mechanics. She didn't mind being with students one year older than her. She actually felt like an 8 year old too.

When Kira was Fourteen, she found out her best friend, Meiko, had cancer. Her dearest friend started to go through Chemotherapy and her hair began to shed away. To support her friend, Kira cut her hair so Meiko wouldn't feel like an outcast. But sadly, after a year of struggle, her best friend passed away. Kira was depressed until her Junior year of high school.
She felt incomplete without her other half. But she knew she was in a better place.

Additional Info:
She loves flowers. Usually Lilies and Roses and she likes to collect perfume bottles, especially the uniquely shaped ones.
She speaks both Japanese and English
She's curious about different nationalities in the world
She has a Shibi Inu that she loves to dress in a cow suit.
Kiki has 3 freckles in the shape of a triangle on her right cheek.
